The Portland Indie Wine & Food Festival Announces The 2011 Line-up!

14 New Jury-Selected Wineries Join 37 Alumni and 14 Food Partners For

A Taste of Artisan Oregon

Portland, Ore. (April 12, 2011) - The seventh annual Portland Indie Wine & Food Festival (PIWFF) has released the list of wines that will be poured on Saturday, May 14th. In the spirit of this year’s special theme, An Indie Winemaker Review, guests will be treated to wines from 37 festival alumni and 14 newly selected Oregon winemakers, all complemented by bites from 14 top Portland chefs and artisan producers.

“We designed this festival to be a launching pad for boutique wineries, and this year that mission really comes to life,” says founder Lisa Donoughe. “It’s a truly unique year, as newly selected wineries will pour alongside Indie alumni – basically, some whose success has made them too big for our standard annual festival,” adds Donoughe, referring to the 2,500 case limit for a winery to be considered for the festival.

PIWFF will be held in an urban warehouse space near downtown, and set up similar to a farmers market. For $75 guests receive a crystal Indie Wine & Food Festival glass, enjoy unlimited samples of all of the wines and food, and can then purchase their favorite, often hard-to-find, wines directly from the winemaker. The wine is not the only focus though… PIWFF features some of the city’s most talked about restaurants, like Nostrana, Clyde Common, St. Jack and Metrovino, all hand-selected to bring Portland’s cutting edge culinary trends to life.

The award-winning festival draws a groundswell of local food and drink lovers, as well as attracts wine connoisseurs from around the world, for an experience that’s both educational and pure fun. The festival will be held Saturday, May 14th from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Bison Building in inner Northeast Portland.
