

Nostrana Launches 'La Cucina Povera' Menu
Chef & Owner Cathy Whims Creates New Value Menu That Speaks To Humble Ingredients
Portland, OR (June 11, 2009) - On July 9th, Nostrana will launch 'La Cucina Povera', a new three item for $12 menu built from humble ingredients in the traditional Italian 'peasant cooking' style.
"La Cucina Povera, which literally means 'cooking of the poor', uses ingredients that are typically overlooked for their simplicity," says 2009 James Beard Award nominee and Executive Chef Cathy Whims. "This menu celebrates the importance of working with what you've got," adds Whims.
In the 'Cucina Povera' spirit, Whims assembled a modest team of ingredients to form three dishes at the value-driven price of $5 each, or three for $12. The menu will include dishes like:
