Penner-Ash Brings The Classroom To The Winery
Penner-Ash Wine Cellars Offers New Educational Seminars In Its Beautiful Willamette Valley Estate Vineyard & Winery
Portland, OR (February 12, 2009) - Beginning this March, wine lovers can heighten their senses and exercise their palates at Penner-Ash Wine Cellar's new educational seminar series. The new pioneering classes pair wine enthusiasts with some of Oregon's most influential wine personalities for guest lectures in the Penner-Ash dining room, a space lined with windows that overlook the vineyard, and the dream-like landscape of the Chehalem Valley with a Mt. Hood backdrop.
"Wineries tend to host vineyard-centric educational classes, which only feature wine from that particular estate," says Lynn Penner-Ash, winemaker of Penner-Ash Wine Cellars. "We want to change it up by making our winery an inclusive learning center where wine lovers can explore wine with a variety of professional connoisseurs while being inspired by a unique sense of place - the winery."
The three class seminar series kicks off March 22nd, and runs through May. The class list follows below:
- March 22nd - Pairing Pinot Noir with Mushrooms and Truffles co-hosted by Jack and Chris Czarnecki of the Joel Palmer House and Lynn and Ron Penner-Ash.
- April 5th - Syrahs from Around the World Bar presented by Randy Goodman, owner and sommelier of Portland's new wine bar, Bar Avignon.
- May 17th - The Secrets of Blending Pinot Noir with winemaker Lynn Penner-Ash and Ron Penner-Ash.
Classes take place from 2 - 4 p.m. and are $30/class or $75 for all three scheduled events. Reservations are required.
